On July 7, 2026, the Rotary Club of Evansville presented the 2025 Civic Award honoring the most outstanding citizens since 1927. This year’s recipient, Sondra Matthews, was able to turn big dreams into a lasting legacy of service to both Evansville’s minority community and the city as a whole, as founder of the Our Timesnewspaper and the Evansville African American Museum.
