TID BITS FOR THOUGHTS

If you would like to be a Greeter at a Rotary meeting, please contact Brenda Diggs. Two greeters are requested for each meeting. Greeters arrive by 11:30 AM, greet all Rotarians and guests and enjoy getting to know the Club members.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

There are additional Rotarians who would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they recover from accidents, surgery and ill health. Please continue to keep Roxy Baas, Jesse Stock, and Judi Jacobsen, Alan Winslow’s wife, in your thoughts and prayers.

ROTARY ADDRESS AND FAX

IMPORTANT! Please be sure to use P.O. Box 1131, Evansville, IN 47706 for all Rotary correspondence including dues payment. There is a new fax for the Rotary office. It is 866-538-7635. All changes- address, cell / mobile number, e-mail address, employment status, marital status, telephone number, etc., should be submitted to the Rotary office.

READING ROTARIAN

Cathy Sickman Rennner is signing up Rotarians for the Reading Rotarian program that will be the week of October 8-12 in the elementary schools. The book, Retrieving with Evie, is being donated by Keep Evansville Beautiful and Fifth Third Bank. Donate an hour to read to our community’s first graders.

DIVERSITY

The annual Diversity Picnic will be held on Sunday, October 14 at Old National Bank on the Riverfront. The family event will feature ethnic food, entertainment and children’s games. Rotarians are asked to bring a covered dish. Questions and sign-up may be addressed to Lois Duncan, Lezlie Simmons or Bill Wooten.

CONDOLANCES

Sincerest sympathy is extended to Brian and Barbara Williams and family on the September 8 death of Brian’s mother, Marian G. Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Foundation of Evansville.

ROTARY FLAG EXCHANGE

Elisabeth Bomke, a distant cousin of Mae Arensman, and a guest of Ray Arensman, presented the Club with a Rotary Flag from her home town in Germany. Elisabeth is in Evansville until Saturday, September 15, as of guest of Ray and Mae.

TID BITS FOR THOUGHTS

The Ten Most Powerful Two-Letter Words: “If it is to be it is up to me.” Giving: There never was a person who did anything worth doing who did not receive more than he gave. Henry Ward Beecher Attitude and Change: Often we change jobs, friends and spouses instead of ourselves. Akbarali H. Jetha, Reflections Life: Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be. Grandma Moses Inner Worth: Outside show is a poor substitute for inner worth. More Important Than Words: People may forget what you’ve said to them, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Reading: If you believe everything you read, you’d better not read. Wise Living: At birth, the baby cries and those around them are smiling. Life should be lived so that when people die, they are smiling and those around are crying. Making Life Easy: When you are tough on yourself, life is going to be infinitely easier on you.
