GSE TEAM LEADER / AMBASSADORAL SCHOLARSHIP

From Mark Miller: Our district will accept applications for GSE Team Leader from Rotarians who wish to lead four young professionals for four weeks of cultural and vocational exchange to southern Brazil (Maringá / Paraná).  The GSE team will leave Indiana on May 5 and return June 2, 2008.  To qualify as a GSE Team Leader, the individual must be an experienced Rotarian, involved in service projects, and be well-informed on Indiana, the United States and Rotary.  Candidates must also be comfortable working as part of a team with a schedule that is both physically and emotionally demanding, assume complete charge of the team and act as liaison between the team and host clubs. The team will spend roughly a month visiting various clubs and sites in Rotary District 4630 in Brazil. Club endorsed applications for team leader must be received no later than August 1, 2007.Finally, please encourage young professionals between 25 and 40 years of age who would enjoy experiencing life in southern Brazil, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas to submit a GSE Team Member application!  Club endorsed applications must be received no later than November 1, 2007. Our district will also accept club-endorsed applications for the 2008-09 Ambassadorial Scholarship no later than August 1, 2007.   If you know of an individual with at least 2 years of college experience, would like to study abroad for a year, has demonstrated a personal commitment to community service, possesses maturity and seriousness of purpose; has concrete ideas as how s/he will improve international understanding and world peace; and, basically is someone you feel would represent your club as an ambassador of good will, encourage them to download an application and apply!  District 6580 will then select and offer one single year Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, not to be confused with the Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship, for academic year 2008-09 in September 2007.
