CLUB ASSEMBLY

President-Elect Matt Volkman announced that our Club Assembly will be May 29, at Kahn Dees Donavon and Kahn in the conference room from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. All Rotarians are welcome; however, all board members, committee and sub committee chairs are strongly encouraged to attend. Please RSVP Matt.

CONGRATULATIONS

Gavin Charles Glackman’s arrival was welcomed by his parents Grant and Carla Glackman on Monday, April 28. Everyone is doing well.  Rick Watkins, Rick Watkins Financial Services, LLC, has received the Million Dollar Round Table’s highest honor: the Top of the Table. The award recognizes outstanding client service, ethics and professionalism, said Million Dollar Round Table spokespersons.

WELCOME BACK

John “Breck” Breckenridge, who has been out for several weeks, rejoined us at the April 29 meeting. Good to have you back.

READING ROTARIAN

Cathy Sickman Renner has the sign up sheets for the Spring Reading Rotarian Program. Reading will be Monday May 5, for Delaware Elementary School. The other elementary schools will be reading the week of May 12 -16, 2008. The book is “Arthur Meets The President” which will delight the children in the first grade. Spouses, friends and older children are all welcome to read. Won’t you please donate 30-40 minutes to read a good story to grateful children? Sign up sheet will be available before and after the meeting on the 29th.

MENTORING PROGRAM

Nancy Bizal presented certificates to the mentors and mentees in this Rotary year’s Mentoring Program. Thank you Nancy for continuing to chair the program.

"CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY SERVICE"

The “Celebration of Community Service” will take place at The Centre on Tuesday, June 10. The keynote speaker is Pat Koch. Profit from this fundraiser is used to support Rotary’s Community Service project. A corporate table for 8 is $1000; a table for 4 is $500. Incentives for selling the corporate tables will be announced in a letter being sent from the Rotary office and at the next several Rotary meetings.

REMINDER TO VOTE

Tuesday, May 6 is primary election day in Indiana. Take the time before or after the Rotary meeting to cast your ballot for the candidate of your choice. To paraphrase Dr. Dion - the primary system we have may not be the best system; but, it is the system we have to select our candidates.

READING ROTARIANS

Rotarians are still needed! Cathy Sickman Renner has the sign up sheets for the Spring Reading Rotarian Program. Reading will be Monday May 5, for Delaware Elementary School. The other elementary schools will be reading the week of May 12 - 16, 2008. The book is “Arthur Meets The President” which will delight the children in the first grade. Spouses, friends and older children are all welcome to read. Won’t you please donate 30-40 minutes to read a good story to grateful children? Sign up sheet will be available before and after the meeting on May 6 for the following week’s readings.
