There are other Rotarians and Rotarian family members who would also appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they recover from accidents, surgery and ill health.

ROTARY CODE OF ETHICS

Are you aware there is a Rotary Code of Ethics?  They have been published in the Rotations in prior years; however, we have several new members that might like to read them.  The first half appears below with the second half appearing in the next edition of the Rotations.

“My business standards shall have in them a note of sympathy for our common humanity. My business dealings, ambitions and relations shall always cause me to take into consideration my highest duties as a member of society. In every position in business life, in every responsibility that comes before me, my chief thought shall be to fill that responsibility and discharge that duty so that when I have ended each of them, I shall have lifted the level of human ideals and achievements a little higher than I found it. In view of this, it is my duty as a Rotarian, -

1.                   To consider my vocation worthy, and as affording me distinct opportunity to serve society.

2.                   To improve myself, increase my efficiency and enlarge my service, and by so doing attest my faith in the fundamental principle of Rotary, that he profits most who serves best.

3.                   To realize that I am a business man and ambitions to succeed; but that I am first and ethical man and wish no success that is not founded on the highest justice and morality.

4.                   To hold that the exchange of my goods, my services and my ideas for profit is legitimate and ethical, provided that all parties in the exchange are benefited thereby.

5.                   To use my best endeavors to elevate the standards of the vocation in which I am engaged, and so to conduct my affairs that others in my vocation may find it wise, profitable and conducive to happiness to emulate my example.”

FEBRUARY BOARD MEETING

The February Board of Directors meeting was cancelled due to the inclement weather on February 12. An announcement will be made whether the meeting will be rescheduled or the February Board business will be tabled until the March 11 Board meeting.

WELCOME - BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

From Prudence Hoesli: “Jonathan and I welcomed Tanner John Hoesli to the world on Jan. 31.  He was 5 1/2 weeks early and spent a week in NICU.  Now he is home with us now and doing quite well.”  Congratulations to Prudence and Jonathan.

JOINT ROTARY MEETING - HENDERSON

The joint Rotary meeting with the Henderson (KY) Club has been rescheduled for April 15 at the Coliseum with our Club hosting.

LOVE LETTERS

The 49 Rotarians and guests that braved the ice to attend the February 12th Rotary meeting were treated to an excellent program by Kevin Fleming. His topic focused on the love letters written between both the famous and not so famous couples during the last three hundred or so years.  Kevin, a former Rotarian, is the husband of Rotarian Wendy McCormick.
