Rotary's third Avenue of Service covers the variety of efforts Rotarians make to improve the

quality of life for those within their community.

CIVIC AWARD COMMITTEE

The Civic Award Committee is responsible for collecting all nominations for the annual Civic Award, deciding the

winner of the award and arranging all of the logistics for the presentation of the award.  The chairperson of this

committee is always the club's immediate Past President.

CLUB SERVICE PROJECT COMMITTEE

The Club Service Project Committee is responsible for the annual service project funded by the proceeds from

the club's annual Evening of Fortune.

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE

The Diversity Committee is responsible for creating diversity within the membership of the club and for promoting

diversity within the community.

The Education Committee is responsible for creating club programs which assist in the education of the youth of

the community.

            AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

            The Ambassador Program assigns one Rotarian to each school (public, private and parochial) within

            the community to serve as a liaison between the club and the schools and to assist the schools and the    

            students within the schools with their individual needs.

            CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT GRANTS

            Classroom Enrichment Grants provide funding for projects of local school teachers who wish to involve

            their students in creative, collaborative projects of long-term value, which could not be funded by the

            normal school funding process.

            READING PROGRAM

            The Reading Program arranges for Rotarians to go to local elementary classrooms to read to the students and

            to help instill the joy of reading.

            The Rotary Speakers Bureau provides Rotarians as speakers to students at local schools.

            WORKPLACE COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE PROGRAM

            The Workplace Communication Excellence Program works to provide assistance with the local schools

            to teach communication skills necessary for the workplace.

The Object of Rotary  is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

First.

The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business and community life;

The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
